Open Hearts and Politics: What Can You Do?

I know it’s not a good answer for what’s really bothering me. And I'm on a mission to open hearts. It hurts my heart to see so many people succumb to desperation…people who want to see our country “become great again.” The disconnection from source. The disillusionment. The belief that we are victims of a political system more powerful that we can ever be. My heart literally hurts with the knowledge that we humans are in such a disconnected, disillusioned state of being.

But our separateness is an illusion. We are brothers and sisters.

It's time to open hearts.

I think of how we got here. How little we trust our leaders to lead. How little we trust ourselves to lead our own lives. How we’ve given our power away so that we don’t have to feel responsible. How disenfranchised and hopeless we’ve become.

We believe we need change, and at the same time, we’re terrified of it. Fear has such allure…sneaky, provocative and enticing,

My heart is breaking — and it’s tempting to shut down. But I know that’s not the path for me…so instead, I’m prying it open. I’m standing up, opening my shoulders, accessing my own true source, which is LOVE.

These are, without a doubt, challenging times. We have forgotten who we are, and what we’re made of.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section id="" class=" " style="margin: 0px; padding: 45px 0px; " visibility="" parallax="false"][cs_row id="" class=" " style="margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; " visibility="" inner_container="true" marginless_columns="false" bg_color=""][cs_column id="" class="" style="padding: 0px; " bg_color="" fade="false" fade_animation="in" fade_animation_offset="45px" fade_duration="750" type="1/1"][x_image type="none" src="http://coachcharrise.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/open-hearts-and-politics.jpg" alt="open hearts" link="false" href="#" title="" target="" info="none" info_place="top" info_trigger="hover" info_content=""][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section id="" class=" " style="margin: 0px; padding: 45px 0px; " visibility="" parallax="false"][cs_row id="" class=" " style="margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; " visibility="" inner_container="true" marginless_columns="false" bg_color=""][cs_column id="" class="" style="padding: 0px; " bg_color="" fade="false" fade_animation="in" fade_animation_offset="45px" fade_duration="750" type="1/1"][cs_text id="" class="" style="" text_align=""]We are not helpless as long as we remember to use our voice, and to love one another. We are not lost unless we disengage from the very human spirit that will save us. We are not marginalized unless we believe our lives don’t matter.

I’m breathing. I’m alive. There is something I can do. I can open my heart when it wants to close. I can listen. I can ask questions. I can open the space for community. I can be a source for nurturing dialogue that creates rather than destroys.

Because we all want the same thing, ultimately. We want to love, and be loved. We want our voice to be heard and acknowledged. And we want to make a difference with our actions. Whether we’re Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, or YOU, our spirit desires these things.

I love you.

P.S. The CoQuora Project is where we walk the talk. We're building an open-hearted community, and we'd love it if you joined us.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section]
